Giovanni Michelucci

The Church of St John The Baptist by architect Giovanni Michelucci was innovative on the architectural scene and is still incredibly inspiring to observe and photograph. The classic concept of the façade is replaced by that of a path to the interior, played out entirely on contrasts of planes and light, on contrasts of material (stone and copper), in a plastic tension that is all emotional and timeless. The link with nature is felt and creates an unusual atmosphere that is almost an ethical message.
